Featured Author Spotlight: Christina Malloy- Can You Hear Me?

Can you tell us a little about yourself and what inspired you to become an author?

I am a passionate writer who uses poetry as a way to express my heart and connect with God. My poems are often my prayers, helping me process life’s challenges, joys, and moments of reflection.

I decided to become an author because I wanted my poems to bless others in the same way they have blessed and healed me. Writing has been a deeply personal outlet for me, but I felt a calling to share my words with the world, hoping they would bring encouragement and strength to those going through difficult seasons.

What is your book about, and what inspired you to write it?

My book is a collection of poems centered on the theme of overcoming life’s challenges. Each piece reflects personal struggles, victories, and my faith journey.

I was inspired to write this book because my poems were more than just words on a page—they became a healing process for me. I wanted to share this experience with others, hoping my words could inspire strength, healing, and a sense of hope for those who might feel like giving up.

Are you a PurposePals author? If so, what did you enjoy about your PurposePals Publishing experience?

Yes, I am proudly a PurposePals author. The experience with Kimi Johnson and her team was incredible. What I enjoyed most was the one-on-one help.

Kimi was attentive, supportive, and really took the time to walk me through each step of the publishing process. Her guidance gave me the confidence I needed to bring my poetry to life in a way that felt authentic and powerful.

What was the most challenging part of writing or publishing your book, and how did you overcome it?

The most challenging part for me was sharing my personal poems with the world. Writing them was personal, but sharing them publicly felt vulnerable.

I overcame this fear by reminding myself of why I was writing in the first place—to inspire, encourage, and bring hope to others. I also found strength in prayer, trusting that my story could positively impact someone else's life, even if it felt uncomfortable for me.

Who or what do you hope your book will impact, and what message do you want readers to take away?

I hope my book will reach those who feel lost, discouraged, or overwhelmed by life’s trials. I want my readers to know that they are not alone and that there is always hope—no matter how difficult the circumstances may seem.

The message I want readers to take away is simple but powerful: "You can overcome." My poems reflect both struggle and victory, and I hope they remind readers that brighter days are ahead when you hold on to faith and keep pressing forward.

What advice would you give to someone who is just starting their journey as a writer or planning to publish their first book?

My advice is simple: Believe in yourself.

Don’t let fear stop you from sharing your story. Your voice matters, and someone out there needs to hear your words. Writing can feel vulnerable, but when you stay true to your message and trust the process, you’ll inspire more people than you can imagine.

What’s next for you?

I’m currently working on writing more poems and continuing to share my journey through faith and words. My goal is to use my writing to make a difference in the world, one reader at a time.

I also plan to explore new ways to connect with my audience, possibly through spoken word events and community workshops where I can share my poetry and encourage others to express their stories through creative writing.

How can readers connect with you?

I’d love to connect with readers who are passionate about personal growth, faith, and storytelling. You can reach me through the following platforms:

In some of the weakest moments of my life, I embrace poetry. It’s a way to help me release stress and to talk to God. When I struggle to find the words to say out loud, I seem to always be able to express myself in writing. Some of my poems are my prayers to God and reading them helps me get through life and release my pain. In moments I feel God isn’t listening to me I write, hoping He would hear my soul. I wanted to share my poems with the world to help people get through the pain of life. Jesus helped by giving me hope, hope for a better day, hope in knowing that the devil is a liar, and I will win in this thing called life. I share this heartfelt book of poetry in hopes that you too will experience His love and find strength in the midst of pain.
